As you become older, the biggest challenge that has become for you is macular degeneration. The sources which are having the properties of antioxidants should be consumed well as they help in fighting macular degeneration. Foods like pumpkins, eggs, dark green leafy vegetables, carrots, and sweet potatoes can be consumed.
- Exercise for Eyes- As we all know that eyes have muscles, they need regular exercise to be in good shape. In the morning, eye exercises are best. It is the time when you are retiring on your bed and when your eyes feel tired. Keep consistent for a month, you will be able to notice the results. Every morning, begin by warming up your hands and put them on your eyes for five seconds. Repeat it two to three times. Look upside and roll your eyes in all directions for ten times at least.
- Rest for your Eyes- It can be helpful to you if your close your eyes for a few minutes. Whenever you’re free from your work, you can practice it for one hour or as many times as you wish. If your job includes work on PCs, Laptops, it can be a hectic task for your eyes to work continuously for many hours, closing eyes can be refreshing for you. The following exercise can protect you from exertion or fatigue.
- Full body exercise for your Vision- In an entire day, exercising for at least twenty to thirty minutes in a day can be beneficial for your health. This increases blood circulation and small blood vessels remove the harmful substances that may have been deposited on the eye lens. A brisk walk is enough, doesn’t require intense exercise.
- Get enough Sleep- Our body needs regular and restful sleep at night. One should sleep for 7-8 hours in a day; this keeps the stress away from your daily schedule and makes you feel refreshed. The doctors may prescribe the importance of good sleep for our well-being. Whenever you get enough rest your body feels more energetic. If you spend more time on computers, take short breaks on your way can also be helpful.
Other than this, some other important points can be beneficial for eyes like avoiding smoking, create eye-friendly surroundings, have regular eye exams, etc. However, beyond 50 healthy eye vision can be a challenging task. It can be healthy by maintaining a good lifestyle, regular eye check-ups, and healthy nutrition and vitamins and minerals. One should take a well-balanced diet to keep yourself fit and healthy.
